About the Opportunity

WTC Group is looking for a full-time Leading Hand to be based in Narrabri, NSW. This role reports to the Workshop and Field Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing a team of 5–10 Site Plant Mechanics and subcontractors, while managing the daily operations of the workshop.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and supervising workshop activities, ensuring timely and high-quality work delivery
  • Managing a growing team, providing mentorship and development support
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repairs of Volvo/John Deere/Kenworth and Caterpillar machinery
  • Implementing and monitoring safety standards in the workshop
  • Assisting the Workshop Supervisor with planning and scheduling
  • Conducting diagnostic tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning of equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety regulations
  • Managing resources and equipment to optimise workflow
  • Liaising with clients and other departments to meet project requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in workshop processes

About You

To qualify, you'll need substantial experience in a similar role, and expertise with Heavy Earthmoving Equipment is essential.

Additionally, you must hold a valid Driver's Licence (any state) and a White Card (or be willing to obtain one). The successful candidate must be physically capable of passing a pre-employment medical and also pass Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing.

About the Benefits

Earn a competitive hourly rate of $65/hr – $75/hr, approximately equivalent to an annual salary range of $140K–$180K (determined based on your experience and qualifications, ensuring that your expertise is appropriately rewarded within this range).
