About the Opportunity
HL Landscapes is looking for full-time Landscape Site Supervisors based in Brisbane and Gold Coast areas.
This is a highly functional and autonomous role where you will oversee daily site operations, manage teams, and ensure that projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within scope. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will coordinate contractors and materials to ensure timely project completion while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting detailed construction plans to guide project delivery
- Leading a team of staff and managing day-to-day site operations
- Supervising subcontractors and ensuring they adhere to project timelines and quality standards
- Managing procurement of materials, ensuring everything arrives on-site as scheduled to avoid delays
- Maintaining quality control on-site by ensuring that work complies with industry standards and safety regulations
- Ensuring safety compliance by enforcing health and safety protocols, completing safety audits, and conducting daily toolbox talks
- Setting out and installing hardscape structures, such as gravel and paved areas, retaining walls, fences, trellises, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and garden furniture
- Preparing softscape areas by setting up seedbeds, planting trees, bushes, hedges, flowers, and bulbs
- Preparing lawn areas, including spreading topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf
- Coordinating with other contractors on shared project sites, ensuring smooth workflow and communication
- Adapting to changes on-site and responding quickly to any unforeseen challenges
- Providing feedback to team members and contractors, focusing on improvement and accountability at the end of each day
About You
To qualify, you must have experience in a similar role on civil construction sites, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a solid understanding of health and safety protocols. You should also be computer literate with the ability to manage site documentation and communication efficiently. Additionally, the following are required:
- Driver’s Licence
- White Card
While not mandatory, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Bobcat & Excavator licence
- First aid certificate
- HR Truck Licence
- Previous landscaping experience or trade qualifications
As a well-prepared, proactive individual, you’ll possess strong organisational skills and be able to adjust to the fast pace of the role. You should have the ability to manage and lead people effectively while delivering clear, respectful communication. You will also need to be agile, able to adapt to changes on the fly, and hold team members accountable for their work.
