We have been trading as a not-for-profit company since 1989, created to support local Territorians gain quality training and employment opportunities. GTNT Group is made up of three business arms including the Group Training Organisation, Institute of Skills and Training Australia as a Registered Training Organisation and Apprenticeships NT, with offices located in Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs servicing remote areas throughout the Territory.

We are the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in the Northern Territory servicing both the private and public sector and providing additional tailored services such as recruitment, labour hire and training arrangements. Our passion is to up-skill the Territory and create a better futures for Territorians.

Your Role

We are now looking for full-time Employment Consultants based in both Darwin, NT and Alice Springs, NT. 

Reporting to the Regional Leader, this role is responsible for supporting sustainable employment outcomes by developing employer relationships, supporting job placements, and managing participant caseloads.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing individualised employment plans for participants to secure and maintain jobs
  • Building and managing a pipeline of local employers and identifying new job opportunities
  • Engaging with employers to understand their recruitment needs and securing placements for participants
  • Conducting consultations, assessments, and progress reviews to identify and address barriers to employment
  • Building strong relationships with participants to ensure they are job-ready
  • Managing employer and participant relationships through ongoing post-placement support
  • Documenting employer and participant engagements in relevant systems
  • Meeting key performance indicators by achieving sustainable placements
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual deed requirements and organisational policies
  • Keeping accurate records of all actions and documentation within required timeframes
  • Collaborating with community partners to enhance service delivery
  • Prioritising tasks to meet targets while demonstrating empathy and support for participants

What we need from you

To qualify, you will need extensive prior experience managing a case load. Experience within Employment Services, Training, Rehabilitation, Community Services, or Recruitment will be held in high regard.   

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience working in B2B sales environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong employer relationships
  • Strong problem-solving skills

As our ideal candidate, you will possess the following soft skills that will make you succeed in this role: exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, resilience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your style to different audiences. You will also be highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a remote team.
