About the Opportunity

Shepparton Christian College is looking for a full-time Learning Support Teacher based in Shepparton, VIC.

This role involves fostering the learning and development of students with diverse educational needs.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff
  • Using diverse and effective teaching strategies tailored to students with additional needs
  • Liaising with classroom teachers, families, and therapists to support student learning
  • Preparing lesson materials and planning engaging sessions
  • Providing meaningful assessment and feedback on student performance and progress
  • Maintaining accurate student records and adhering to school policies
  • Supporting and engaging in co-curricular activities as needed
  • Upholding Christian values and maintaining a professional standard of teaching
  • Participating in professional development to stay abreast of best practices

About You

To be considered, you’ll need a recognised teaching qualification and current VIT registration (or the ability to obtain). We’re seeking a practising Christian with a strong faith, a collaborative and teachable approach, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

We are seeking someone passionate about closing educational gaps for students who are behind learning milestones, with a commitment to developing and enhancing programmes aimed at achieving better outcomes. This role offers significant scope for implementation and growth for the right person willing to develop and enhance programmes aimed at achieving better outcomes for struggling students.

Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:

  • Qualifications in Learning Support or Special Education
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and parents
  • A mature Christian character with a commitment to a local church fellowship
  • Willingness to instil Christian values through the curriculum
