The Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time Offset Printer working four days per week based in Mayfield West, NSW, a suburb of Newcastle, NSW. 

Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for operating and maintaining the Komori GL437 4-colour machine while ensuring the delivery of high-quality print jobs and maintaining a safe, organised production environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operating and maintaining the Komori GL437 4-colour machine
  • Preparing and checking jobs against proofs and/or samples as well as target densities prior to production
  • Assisting with other production duties as needed to meet production deadlines
  • Liaising with the Production Manager and team to achieve required print outcomes
  • Managing and setting priorities to meet job delivery deadlines
  • Operating additional machines, including the SX52 and Cylinder, as per training and ability for leave coverage
  • Maintaining and recommending production standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Keeping the production floor and machine areas clean and organised
  • Following safe work practices to prevent injuries and accidents
  • Carrying out additional tasks as directed by management

What You Need

To qualify, you will need strong organisational and time management skills, alongside experience operating and maintaining printing machinery such as the Komori GL437 or similar equipment. A minimum of 2 years' experience in the printing or production industry will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience with additional machines, including SX52 and Cylinder
  • Knowledge of production standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage job delivery deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
