The Opportunity

We are now looking for a full-time Construction Project Manager based in Lae, PNG.

In this position, under the guidance of senior management, you will manage and lead a team of skilled tradespeople through every stage of construction projects, from initial planning to final execution. Your main goal will be to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality while achieving exceptional client satisfaction. It is important for you to know that this is a hands on role, you will be active on site and not just sitting behind a desk.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Building and developing a high-performing construction team to achieve optimal results.
• Leading projects through requirements definition, scheduling, and proactive risk management.
• Coordinating internal and external resources to align with project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Managing project scope throughout the lifecycle while mitigating risks to uphold quality standards.
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, including regular updates.
• Structuring and managing performance databases for various project types.
• Developing and nurturing partnerships with third-party vendors and researchers.
• Allocating and monitoring resources to maximise efficiency and deliverables.
• Reporting project outcomes, risks, and necessary escalations to senior management.
• Assisting in scoping and preparing quotes for upcoming projects.
• Assuring quality across all projects.

What you'll bring

To be considered for this role, you must have at least five years of experience in a supervisory position within the construction industry, combined with a broad and diverse construction background. The successful candidate will also have trade beginnings and demonstrated success in meeting deadlines and managing budgets effectively.
