About Us:

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate entity created by the Aboriginal Land Right (Northern Territory) Act, with an elected 90-member Aboriginal Council. It has effectively fulfilled its statutory functions through representing, protecting and advocating for Aboriginal people's rights and interests for 50 years. 

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Computer Services Officer to join the Council and play a vital role in efficient and effective implementation, maintenance and development of CLC computer services.

Your Next Adventure:

The Central Land Council (CLC) is looking for a full-time Senior Computer Services Officer based in Alice Springs, NT.

Reporting to the Computer Services Manager, this role is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and development of CLC's ICT and OT systems, ensuring efficient operations and technical support across the organisation.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administering ICT and OT systems, software, computers, and devices
  • Deploying, managing, and maintaining hardware devices and infrastructure
  • Planning and implementing system and equipment upgrades and improvements
  • Providing Level 2 desktop support and resolving technical issues
  • Monitoring system performance to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Investigating and implementing enhancements to optimise system operations
  • Preparing discussion papers and implementation plans for new systems and applications
  • Developing and maintaining internal records and documentation
  • Liaising with staff to determine computing needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Collaborating with external agencies, service providers, and suppliers
  • Developing user guides and delivering in-house training for CLC staff
  • Supporting budgeting, policy development, contract management, and compliance initiatives

What You'll Bring to the Team:

To qualify, you will need tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or extensive work experience in the support, management, and maintenance of modern computer systems and platforms. Previous experience in IT support, network administration, or a similar role will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience administering wide-area networks and Microsoft platforms, including operating systems, server roles, and the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, including routers, switches, and other network hardware
  • Familiarity with help desk support services for Microsoft applications, network access, and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing Windows server operating systems and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Ability to plan and execute projects involving system upgrades and deployments
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, or ITIL

Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to obtain an Ochre Card (Working With Children Check) from SafeNT and satisfactory National Police Clearance
  • Current valid driver’s licence, with the ability to drive long distances in a 4WD vehicle

The Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary of circa $87,000 up to $100,000 p.a. + 15.4% superannuation (depending on qualifications, skills, and experience), the successful candidate will receive a range of benefits from Central Land Council, including:

  • Salary packaging options that can increase your take-home pay by up to $29,000 p.a.
  • Annual airfare and district allowance to help you offset living and travel expenses ($1,300 airfare allowance per annum + up to $6,660 district allowance per annum if moving with dependants, or $3,640 if relocating alone) 
  • Flexible working arrangements, including time-in-lieu and flex-time for additional hours accrued while in the field
  • WFH opportunities available
  • Travel allowance available for work-related travel

  • Subsidised accommodation for the first four months (if relocating)
  • 5 weeks of annual leave PLUS an additional week of leave over Christmas/New Year
