Marine Rescue NSW (MRNSW) operates under the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act, with a vision of being a world-class volunteer rescue service. About the Opportunity
MRNSW now has an exciting opportunity for two Business Support Officers based at our Cronulla head office. These newly created roles provide critical administrative and project support to enhance MRNSW’s efficiency and service delivery.
One position will be aligned with the Operations & Capability Division, supporting Operations, Training, Fleet, and Health, Safety & Culture. The other will be aligned with the Corporate Services Division, supporting Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Media, Information Technology, Property & Stores.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative and project support across either the Operations & Capability or Corporate Services division
- Coordinating meetings, recording key discussions, decisions, and actions
- Acting as a business concierge and managing office operations at MRNSW head office
- Providing professional first-point-of-contact service for MRNSW Volunteer Members and suppliers
- Managing mail processing, order fulfilment, and routine financial transactions
- Updating and maintaining databases to ensure accurate record-keeping
- Assisting in planning and coordinating events, including major search and rescue exercises
- Supporting emergency response logistics and post-incident analysis
- Ensuring confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
- Supporting additional office and operational tasks as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in an advanced administrative or customer service role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- A flexible attitude, including availability for occasional weekend or out-of-hours work
- A current driver’s license and Australian citizenship or permanent residency
Highly desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Experience in a community organisation or emergency service, either as a staff member or volunteer
- Experience in project administration, including planning and execution
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Emergency Management, or a related field
