About the Opportunity
Jetwave Quayside is looking for a full-time Marine Mechanic based in Fremantle, WA.
You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing fleet vessels and shore-based assets across local and remote sites.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing mechanical diagnostics and repairs to fleet vessels and shore-based assets
- Conducting preventative maintenance and vessel docking works
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues
- Servicing and maintaining jet units and outboard engines
- Fault finding and repairing 24V electrical systems
- Responding to vessel breakdowns across the Pilbara, North West, and Perth ports
- Maintaining documentation through Helm & Simpro Portals
- Upholding HSE policies, procedures, and marine safety standards
- Participating in both local and FIFO scopes of work (uplift applies for remote work)
About You
To qualify, you will need a Mechanical Trade Certificate with extensive diesel engine experience. A minimum of 2-3 years post-trade experience is strongly preferred.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Marine experience
- Hydraulics and fitter knowledge
- Hands-on experience with outboard engines and jet units
- 24V electrical troubleshooting
- White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate)
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to travel at short notice and work autonomously in the field
