The Opportunity

We’re hiring full-time Trades Assistants & Apprentices to join our team in Toowoomba, QLD.

In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced tradespeople, assisting with the maintenance and repair of our fleet, including highway trucks, trailers, mobile/fixed machinery, and light vehicles. If you have hands-on experience and a strong mechanical aptitude, this is your opportunity to grow in a supportive, fast-paced environment!

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy vehicles and equipment

• Support the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical faults

• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs under supervision

• Ensure compliance with safety and NHVAS regulations

• Maintain service records and a clean workspace

• Conduct occasional field service and breakdown work

Work Schedule

• Day Shift: 6 AM – 4 or 5 PM

• Night Shift: 3 PM – Midnight (rotates every 6–7 weeks for 2 weeks)

• Overtime available, including weekends

Who We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Trades Assistant in a relevant field OR currently undertaking an apprenticeship in a mechanical trade with a preference for 3rd or 4th year apprentices.

• Mechanical aptitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop

• Valid C Class Driver’s Licence (HR Licence preferred)

• Your own basic toolbox (specialist equipment provided)

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance

• Experience working with earthmoving and plant machinery

• A passion for cross-skilling and developing trade qualifications
