About Us
We are a medium-sized Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that delivers a holistic range of support services to people living in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Through service centres located in Broome, Derby, and Kununurra, our focus is on supporting people in the areas of housing and homelessness, family support services, reintegration services and accommodation and emergency relief services. Each year, we engage with over 3000 people through a local staff group, who represent many of the language groups connected to the country, right across the Kimberley region.

About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a full-time Family Support Services Team Leader based in Broome, Western Australia.
This key leadership role is responsible for supervising a team of up to six Family Support Workers, ensuring the delivery of therapeutic, culturally secure services to families engaged with the Child Protection system. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining best practice approaches, staff development, and collaborative service delivery.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional development support
- Designing and reviewing trauma-informed and culturally secure service delivery models
- Monitoring service outcomes and implementing improvement strategies
- Collaborating with government agencies, especially child protection case managers
- Ensuring staff wellbeing and reflective practice are embedded into team culture
- Supporting recruitment, risk management, and policy development
- Maintaining data integrity and contributing to departmental reporting
- Travelling to remote Aboriginal communities to support program delivery
About You
To be successful, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or an equilvalent Human Services field of enquiry with current registration
- 5 years of experience in staff supervision, therapeutic program delivery, and leadership
- Extensive, hands-on experience working within the Child Protection system
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and the ability to operate confidently in a legislated service environment
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with statutory agencies, particularly the Department for Child Protection in Western Australia
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills, including policy development
- A structured, reflective approach to leading culturally responsive and trauma-informed services
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities or organisations
