About the Opportunity
Are you looking for a new challenge with a vibrant, supportive and growing company? BPM Cowlrick has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager - Mechanical Services to join their team in Gladstone.
Reporting to the Business Unit manager, the primary aim of this role will be the identification, planning and management of project personnel to achieve profitable results.
This will include ensuring satisfactory negotiation and control of Contracts/Projects and orders, ensuring satisfactory Quality and Safety Performance throughout a projects installation, and ensuring Customer Satisfaction with the completion of projects in accordance with Performance, Costs and Schedule.
Some of your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Prepare estimates for construction projects in accordance with tender documentation;
- Purchase of materials and equipment within budgetary constraints;
- Coordinate and provide all onsite resources including engaging or nominating Subcontractors, with the approval of the Business Unit Manager;
- Liaise with the Client where applicable, Architects, Engineers and any other Consultants involved and ensure all Project requirements are met and communicated to all relevant personnel;
- Achieve profitable results for the Project through effective cost control of materials and personnel and meeting of targets;
- Ensure a good customer relationship by meeting all criteria set down in the tender documents to the satisfaction of the client or their representatives for a Project; and
- Improve Quality and Safety performance by personal involvement in the Quality/Safety System and through liaison with the Company’s Management Services Officer.
The successful candidate will have trade qualifications and certifications in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, along with experience in a similar project management role. You must possess demonstrated abilities in estimating, planning and scheduling projects, and should have the proven skills required to calculate and formulate labour requirements in proportion to future work load predictions and tenders.
This position would suit an applicant who can handle multiple tasks and work proactively and reactively in commercial, industrial and domestic situations. You will have commercial / industrial knowledge, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, systems or procedures. You will have a professional manner, strong communication skills and be able to work both under minimal supervision and also as part of a team. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well with site and supervisory personnel, along with strong industrial relations skills are essential in this role.
To be considered, you will need to possess a current QLD driver's licence.
