About Us

Centacare Kimberley is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that delivers a holistic range of support services to people living in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Through service centres located in Broome, Derby, and Kununurra, our focus is on supporting people in the areas of housing and homelessness, family support services, reintegration services and accommodation and emergency relief services. Each year, we engage with over 3000 people through a local staff group, who represent many of the language groups connected to the country, right across the Kimberley region.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Therapeutic Team Leader based in Broome, WA who will:

  • Lead and supervise a team of up to six Family Support Workers, ensuring the delivery of trauma‐informed, culturally secure services to families involved in the Child Protection system.
  • Design, review, and embed therapeutic service delivery models.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and ongoing professional development to staff.
  • Monitor service outcomes, implement improvements and ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with government and statutory agencies, especially in child protection.
  • Travel to remote Aboriginal communities as necessary to support program delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a closely related Human Services field (or equivalent), with current registration where required.
  • Preferred  5 years’ experience in staff supervision, leadership, and therapeutic program delivery, preferably in child protection contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and experience working in regulated service environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work confidently with statutory agencies.
  • Excellent communication, documentation and policy development skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and strong cultural sensitivity.
