More Than Just an Organisation — We’re a Community

For over 50 years, the Central Land Council (CLC) has stood at the heart of Central Australia — representing, protecting, and advocating for Aboriginal peoples’ rights and interests across an extraordinary part of the country.

We’re more than just a workplace. We’re a team of dedicated people who care deeply about the communities we serve and the landscapes we live in. Guided by respect, collaboration, and purpose, we work together to deliver meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal people and their lands.

With an elected 90-member Aboriginal Council and a shared commitment to positive change, we blend professionalism with authenticity, keeping things practical, people-focused, and community-driven.

And above all, we take pride in our work — our team is known for its reliability, commitment, and ability to deliver. When we say we’ll get the job done, we mean it.

A Role with Purpose and Plenty of Character

Step into a role where your technical skills make a real impact. As our Senior Computer Services Officer, you’ll help keep the systems running that connect our people, communities, and country, all while working alongside a friendly, down-to-earth team that values initiative, humour, and heart.

Reporting to the Computer Services Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and improving our ICT and OT systems across the region. This is not your typical IT job — it’s a chance to apply your skills in an environment that’s relaxed, diverse, and refreshingly different.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering ICT and OT systems, software, computers, and devices
  • Managing hardware deployments and infrastructure maintenance
  • Planning and implementing system and equipment upgrades
  • Providing Level 2 desktop support and resolving technical issues
  • Monitoring performance and optimising system operations
  • Preparing discussion papers and plans for new systems and applications
  • Maintaining records and documentation
  • Liaising with staff and suppliers to develop tailored technical solutions
  • Delivering in-house training and user guides
  • Supporting budgeting, policy development, and compliance initiatives

You’ll also have the chance to be part of our exciting move to a modern Microsoft 365 environment, offering plenty of opportunity to build your expertise in this powerful platform and contribute to how it’s shaped across the organisation.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically capable, but also curious, adaptable, and grounded. You’re the type who enjoys solving problems, appreciates a good laugh, and can roll with the quirks of life in the Red Centre.

You’ll bring tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in computer systems support, administration, or network management, but your attitude and outlook matter just as much.

You might be the right fit if you’re:

  • Adaptable and open-minded – ready to embrace the quirks and opportunities of life and work in the outback
  • Collaborative and easygoing – someone who enjoys being part of a small, supportive, and diverse team
  • Adventurous and self-aware – you’ve thought seriously about what it means to relocate to Alice Springs, and you’re excited by the challenge
  • Community-minded – you want your work to mean something, and you value connection over hierarchy

Technical skills that will be highly regarded:

  • Administration of wide-area networks and Microsoft platforms (including Microsoft 365)
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Windows Server environments, AWS, or Azure
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, or ITIL)

Where Work Meets Adventure

Our most successful team members are those who see the move as an adventure — people who come with curiosity, resilience, and a good sense of humour.

What You’ll Gain (Beyond a Great Job)

In addition to a competitive salary of $87,000–$100,000 p.a. + 15.4% super, you’ll enjoy:

  • Salary packaging of up to $29,000 p.a.
  • Annual airfare and district allowances
  • Relocation and accommodation assistance
  • Five weeks of annual leave + one week over Christmas/New Year
  • 17.5% leave loading
