About the Opportunity
Bishop Brothers has an exciting international opportunity for a Hydraulic Hose Technician to join their team in Papua New Guinea.
This hands-on role calls for an energetic person with significant experience in the assembly of hydraulic hoses and fittings. Your role will primarily be focused on the sale of hoses and fittings to Bishop Brothers' customer base, as well as training and supervising a team of hose fitters.
This is a full time residential role in PNG, working 5.5 days per week.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
- Assembling hydraulic hoses and fittings;
- Training staff and customers in assembly and use;
- Stock control and ordering stock; and
- Travel throughout PNG to visit customers and Bishop Brothers' 8 locations.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced team supervisor with an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably within a large mining business. You will have extensive experience working with hydraulic hoses and fittings, and solid knowledge of the design and layout of hydraulic systems.
With a strong training focus and as liaison with senior personnel in large mines, you will need the ability to communicate clearly with staff and customers at all levels. The successful candidate will be experienced in motivating a team and managing competing priorities to ensure the team achieves goals. You'll have reasonable computer skills including a strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and all applicants will require a current driver's licence.
