About the Opportunity

Within this pivotal position, will work with a team of experts from other disciplines to optimize the performance of the Company’s assets. The position will play a leading role in the operation’s mine planning and development projects and will assist in assessing future growth opportunities.
More specifically you will be responsible for:
- Leading the group’s mine planning team to evaluate opportunities at existing operations and development projects;
- Managing test work and mine evaluations to ensure technical feasibility and economics of new projects;
- Evaluating key risks at the operating sites and formulating plans to mitigate such risks;
- Evaluating feasibility of expansion and modernization of existing facilities;
- Assisting with preparation of Technical and other corporate reports;
- Staying up-to-date with advancing technologies and how they may be applied to improve the company’s businesses; and
- Traveling frequently to international locations.
Pan American Silver Corp. is seeking a candidate with a B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Mine Engineering (or equivalent), coupled with a minimum of 8 years practical experience in planning the short term and long term production of precious metals operations, including open pit and underground mines.
Considering the location of the mines (in Latin America), a successful candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English, plus International experience in Latin American countries.
International travel is a major component of this role, as such, you must be willing to travel 30-50% of the time.
Please also note: several of the company’s mines and projects are located at high altitude in the Andes Mountains.
