Your Opportunity

Tenterfield Shire Council is looking for a full-time Manager Infrastructure Delivery based in Tenterfield, NSW.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, this role is responsible for delivering assigned projects professionally, ensuring council's construction and maintenance programs and contracts — covering roads, bridges and engineering infrastructure — are scoped and delivered in line with appropriate project management frameworks.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Director of Infrastructure Services, Manager Works and other senior staff to deliver projects on cost, time and other performance indicators
  • Managing Projects Quality, Safety and Environmental Management systems, including inspections, checklists and documentation
  • Project planning and programming, including cost estimation, budgeting, cash flow and progress reporting
  • Managing contracts in accordance with Council processes, with a strong focus on risk management and compliance
  • Overseeing the procurement function alongside the Procurement Officer and Manager Finance & Technology
  • Preparing monthly reports and business cases for the Director of Infrastructure Services and Council
  • Leading a team including the Asset Inspector, Fleet Coordinator, Business Coordinator, Building & Property Coordinator and Procurement Officer
  • Preparing community engagement plans and maintaining strong public relations
  • Servicing the Local Traffic Committee through agendas, reports and works instructions

To qualify, you will need a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, along with demonstrated strengths in engineering design, contract and tender development and administration. You'll also bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling software such as MS Project
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team management skills
  • Completion of project management courses/qualifications, or significant experience as a project manager
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence and Construction Induction (White) Card
  • Ability to monitor project costs and other project performance indicators
