Tenterfield Shire Council is currently recruiting for multiple reliable and safety-focused Plant Operators to join its Infrastructure team across Tenterfield and Urbenville, NSW.
In these hands-on roles, you will support road construction and maintenance activities, operate and maintain a variety of plant safely and efficiently, and contribute to high-quality infrastructure outcomes for the community.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain road construction and maintenance plant and machinery
- Assist with road construction, pothole patching, concreting and general maintenance
- Complete daily pre-start checks and basic plant maintenance
- Install and maintain road signage, guideposts and erosion control measures
- Perform traffic control duties and work safely around live traffic
- Complete plant checklists, timesheets and other required documentation
- Follow WHS requirements, safe work practices and risk controls
- Work collaboratively as part of a safe, reliable and productive crew

Is This You?
To qualify, you will need a Certificate II in Civil Construction (or equivalent) and demonstrated experience in road construction, maintenance and/or plant operations.
We’re interested in hearing from operators with experience across a range of civil plant and machinery, so tell us about the equipment you’re competent and experienced in operating.
Additionally, the following skills, qualifications and experience will be highly valued:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (or willingness to obtain – Council support provided)
- Safework NSW Traffic Controller qualification
- General Construction (White) Card
- Certificate of Competency for the type of plant to be operated
- First Aid Certificate
