If you want to escape the grind of city life, an exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Ranger/Activities Manager to join the supportive team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island.

In this pivotal role you will be responsible for providing hotel guests with an opportunity to experience exciting activities whilst promoting sustainable environmental practices. These activities may include guided walks, presenting "bush tucker" talks, advising guests on our native wildlife and assisting in our fishing clinics.

Specifically, this will encompass all facets of ecotourism based operations and enhancing the resort's capacity to fulfill these according to industry standards. As you will be leading a team of 5 Rangers, you'll be responsible for all facets of team leadership including developing a regular work roster and adhering to a departmental budget.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an advanced knowledge in the environmental science/biological field while a Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science or Applied Science is preferred but not essential for this role. You'll have advanced communication and interpersonal skills as well as an understanding of ecotourism industry standards in order to implement and communicate these in resort operations and projects.

The Senior Ranger needs a "can do" attitude as you will be working with guests, staff and stakeholders alike. You will also need to be a "people person" with a friendly and patient attitude and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service. An energetic and enthusiastic attitude as well as a knowledge of Fraser Island's fauna and flora is a great advantage for this role. Due to nature of this position, you will need an appropriate level of physical fitness in order to undertake all duties as required.

As a integral position within Kingfisher Bay Resort, you will need the ability to work independently, with a strong work ethic and demonstrate the ability to lead others to achieve project objectives.  

Additional requirements include a valid QLD Driver's Licence and Driver's Authorisation Licence. You'll also need to be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, with an understanding of and/or previous experience with Hotel Reservations Systems.
