About the Opportunity
DHI are currently seeking a Hydraulic Engineer (Flood Modeller) to join their team as part of the Flood Group based in Brisbane.
In this role, you will undertake hydraulic modelling projects, (using MIKE 11, MIKE21 and MIKE FLOOD software systems) within the Flood Group, as well as supporting the Business Area Manager (Flood) in winning projects and managing their delivery.
DHI is looking for someone with a demonstrated understanding of hydraulic models, as applied to the preparation of flood management plans, floodplain modelling and river environments. An aptitude for numerical modelling and the ability to understand and communicate result to colleagues and clients is essential.
A demonstrated proficiency using hydrologic modelling software, such as RORB, URBS, RAFTS or WBNM is essential, whilst experience with the DHI MIKE Suite (MIKE11, MIKE21 and MIKE FLOOD) or TUFLOW would be an advantage.
Ideally you will have a recognised degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant qualification coupled with 2 – 5 years Civil Engineering experience, preferably within a consultancy environment.
The DHI team is looking for a self-motivated individual with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team. You will have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on project delivery and client satisfaction. This varied role will see you making direct contact with clients on a day-to-day basis.
In addition, you will have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, to manage competing work priorities, and to apply sound, practical technical solutions to problems. For your hard work, you'll receive a competitive salary package circa $70,000 - $90,000 based on experience and qualifications. A laptop is also available, and the right applicant will be assisted with relocation if required.
