Lead with Purpose

Centacare Kimberley is seeking a full-time Chief Executive Officer to be based in Broome, WA, with regular travel throughout the Kimberley region.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you'll provide strategic leadership across one of the Kimberley's leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and the continued delivery of high-quality, culturally secure community services. Working alongside an experienced Executive Leadership Team, you'll help shape the organisation's future while building lasting partnerships with communities across the region.

More specifically, your core responsibility will be to:

  • Lead the implementation, monitoring and ongoing review of Centacare Kimberley's Strategic Plan
  • Provide strategic leadership and trusted advice to the Board of Directors on governance, financial and organisational matters
  • Inspire and support the Executive Leadership Team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the organisation's financial performance, sustainability and effective stewardship of resources
  • Build strong and enduring partnerships with Aboriginal communities, Elders, government agencies, funding bodies and sector stakeholders
  • Drive organisational growth through business development, innovation and funding diversification
  • Champion culturally secure, trauma-informed and evidence-based service delivery across all programs
  • Ensure excellence in governance, compliance, quality improvement and organisational risk management

The Leader We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Management, Business, Community Services, Social Work, Public Administration or a related discipline. Significant senior executive leadership experience within the community services, not-for-profit, Aboriginal Community Controlled, government or related sectors will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and experience will be highly valued:

  • Strategic leadership and organisational governance
  • Financial management, budgeting and long-term sustainability
  • Business development, grant acquisition and contract management
  • Building collaborative partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government agencies and funding bodies
  • Leading organisational growth and continuous improvement
  • Developing and mentoring high-performing executive and multidisciplinary teams
  • Navigating complex governance, compliance and risk environments

Beyond your experience, you're a collaborative and values-driven leader who believes the best outcomes are achieved by empowering others. You'll recognise the strength of an experienced leadership team, value genuine partnerships and bring people together around a shared vision.

Equally comfortable working alongside a volunteer Board, engaging with Aboriginal communities and representing the organisation across government and sector networks, you'll combine strategic thinking with authenticity, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to creating positive outcomes for the people and communities of the Kimberley.

  • Base Salary ranging from $180,000 - $200,000 PLUS Super
