About the Program

Community Creators engages children and young people aged 8–18 to explore community strengths and lead youth-driven projects.  The program is grounded in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), strengths-based and trauma-informed practice, with a strong focus on youth voice, belonging and leadership.

  • Mentor and support youth leaders and co-facilitators
  • Facilitate engaging, strengths-based sessions in schools and community settings
  • Support program delivery across primary and secondary schools
  • Build strong relationships with young people, schools, families and partners
  • Plan, deliver and start to end reporting, monitoring, evaluation and storytelling.
  • Align program outcomes with education, health and wellbeing priorities

About You

You are organised, empathetic and approachable, with a genuine passion for working alongside young people.  You value youth voice, thrive in collaborative environments and bring humour, creativity and energy to your work.  You are confident stepping back to allow young people to lead and are committed to inclusive, strengths-based practice.

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Education, Youth Work, Social Work or a related field, with experience facilitating youth groups and supporting youth leadership.  Strong communication skills and an understanding of trauma-informed practice are essential.
