A Role with Purpose
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a full-time, fixed-term Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence Project Coordinator, based in Tennant Creek, NT, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Piliyintinji-ki (Stronger Families), you will lead the community-controlled implementation of recommendations from the Tennant Creek and Barkly Region Family Violence Report 2022 – It Takes a Whole Community Approach to Violence.
This is a strategic, systems-focused role where you will work alongside the Barkly Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Network to strengthen how local services connect and respond. You will also establish a community focus group, ensuring local people have a genuine voice in shaping solutions and influencing the work ahead.
Building strong relationships across the local service network and community will be an important early priority. This is an opportunity for someone who can confidently establish connections, bring people together and build momentum. The role is based in Tennant Creek, with occasional travel to surrounding communities.
Guided by Anyinginyi's cultural framework and its belief that prevention is key, you will champion a balanced, whole-of-family approach. This means keeping victim-survivor safety at the centre while supporting accountability and positive change across families and the wider community, helping create safer futures for children.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Map local services and strengthen referral pathways so Aboriginal families can access timely, culturally responsive support
- Facilitate culturally safe consultation with Elders, community leaders, families and service providers
- Coordinate community education initiatives that build understanding of coercive control, family safety and help-seeking
- Develop early intervention initiatives that engage young men in building respectful, healthy relationships
- Supervise, mentor and develop a small team of DFSV Community Connectors through reflective, trauma-informed practice
- Collaborate with government agencies and other Anyinginyi programs to deliver a coordinated, culturally led response
- Manage funding agreement compliance, data collection, reporting, briefs and acquittals
- Pursue funding and partnership opportunities that support the project's long-term sustainability
