About the Opportunity
West Moreton Anglican College has an exciting opportunity for a full time Home Stay Coordinator to join their dedicated team located only minutes from Ipswich.
In this role, you'll provide a high level of service to the College in the area of the International Students' Program, including the coordination of Home Stay for International Students.
More specifically, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Coordinating the Home Stay Program under the direction of the Director of International Students’ Program;
- Assisting with the implementation of the Study Tour Program and preparing monthly accounts for Long Term Home Stay and Study Tour Home Stay;
- Placing long and short term students, and selecting, interviewing and assessing prospective host families for the Home Stay Program;
- Preparing correspondence and documents, and coordinating travel arrangements and overseas health cover for students;
- Conducting orientation sessions for Host families;
- Maintaining and coordinating quality records and databases for the Home Stay Program; and
- Ensuring compliance with Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP) policies and procedures and the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and the National Code.
The successful applicant will have a strong desire to work with international youth, and will possess demonstrated experience in both a school environment and in a high level customer service role. Ideally, you will have completed post secondary studies or a tertiary qualification, and will have experience in a similar position.
You'll have a professional and positive approach to your work with the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. You will also display sound organisational and time management skills, including the ability to establish and maintain priorities in an environment that requires a flexible yet systematic approach. In addition, you will posses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, to build rapport and interact effectively with a wide range of people, including people from all levels of the organisation. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including a sound knowledge of databases and their application, and a demonstrated commitment to quality service, customer care and effective customer liaison are also a must.
Although not essential, a First Aid Certificate, the ability to work with students who are facing cultural adjustment and who have English as their second language, and the ability to use The Alpha School System (TASS) software will all be highly regarded.
All applicants require a current Working With Children ‘Blue Card’ and the ability to work outside of normal hours. This will include responsibility for a 24 hour emergency contact phone, airport pick-ups, home stay interviews and study tour arrivals and departures.
