The Centralian Controls team of experienced engineers and technical staff assist clients from a range of industries, predominantly the growth industries of Oil & Gas and Metals & Mining, with product knowledge, product engineering, equipment selection, project design, installation, commissioning and after sales service.

About the Opportunity

Centralian Controls has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer or Technician to join its Valving group based in Royal Park, Adelaide.

Working as part of the Valving team, this is an interactive role which requires practical engineering and sales skills to work with clients to develop valve-related solutions for process control applications.

This is predominantly an office-based role with regular interaction with clients, other team members and workshop technicians.

You will take a consultative sales approach, working closely with customers to develop solutions that meet their applications. Formal proposals / quotes will be generated and presented to the client. On-going business development and selling our capabilities is also part of the role.

More specifically, your duties will include:

  • Liasing with clients and staff to develop solutions;
  • Reviewing documentation including specifications, drawings and tender documents;
  • Promotion and selection of process control equipment;
  • Generation of proposals and quotations;
  • Developing relationships with clients and seek out new opportunities;
  • Ensuring that activities are conducted to documented instructions; and
  • Following all Quality, Safety & Environment policies and procedures, and reporting any incidents or near misses.

Centralian Controls is looking for an experienced Engineer or Technician who takes pride in delivering quality solutions and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines and goals. You'll be able to solve problems quickly and innovatively, deal calmly with changing priorities, and have the communication and negotiation skills to work with all stakeholders as required. Field based experience, particularly with respect to valving and instrumentation in the Oil & Gas industry, would be an advantage.

Most importantly, you will be an enthusiastic 'go getter' with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be well-presented and have fantastic interpersonal skills, as you interact with clients from all walks of life. All applicants must hold a current driver's licence, and be computer literate.
