An opportunity exists for an experienced Safety Coordinator to work on a technically challenging South West Sydney project. Preference will be afforded to Safety Coordinators with a history working on highly trafficked, RMS road and bridge projects.

Duties
As Safety Coordinator, you will implement first class safety policies, procedures and systems on RMS infrastructure projects. You will be the ‘one-stop safety shop’ on site, able to weave competently between liaising with the workforce, subcontractors, internal project stakeholders, management, clients and regulators. You will also be able to hold your own implementing basic environmental management processes with support from Corporate Environmental staff.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working on RMS civil infrastructure projects including major road and bridge projects.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar position in the construction industry.
- Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in OH&S.
- Training & Assessor Certificate (preferred).
- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator certification and/or experience.
- Experience managing the OHS related components of union rights of entry.
- Competent computer literacy, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated high regard and understanding of safety and quality principles.
- Ability to develop a good rapport with site staff (including leading hands, supervisors, labourers, subcontractors, site managers, etc.), management, client representatives and auditors.
- Personal attributes of commitment to achievement, honesty and integrity.
