About the Organisation

The Great South Coast Medicare Local (GSCML) is a new collaborative partnership between Otway Division of General Practice, South West Primary Care Partnership and Southern Grampians Glenelg Primary Care Partnership. This Medicare Local comprises the LGAs of Southern Grampians, Glenelg, Moyne, Corangamite Shires and Warrnambool City Council.

GSCML aims to improve the health and well-being of these communities by facilitating a responsive, seamless and accessible primary health care. The organisation will work with the community to provide more information about the local health system, so community members can make informed decisions about their healthcare options. It will find innovative solutions to fill gaps in health care provision.

About the Opportunity 

Great South Coast Medicare Local has an exciting full time opportunity for a Manager Corporate Services to join their team, based in Warrnambool.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior management role in which you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the overall organisation - including monitoring performance against the strategic plan, overseeing contractual obligations, and maintaining strategic alliances.

As a key leader within this new organisation, you'll be in a position to ensure the Medicare Local services are established successfully with the public and healthcare providers within this beautiful region of Victoria.

More specifically, some of your daily duties will include:

  • Providing supervision of teams to ensure the delivery of strategic outcomes, and being the first point of escalation by team leaders and managers;
  • Advising and directing teams on the scope, content and method of service and support;
  • Ensuring preparation of and compliance to team budgets;
  • Assisting the CEO in the management of all existing business, including contract management and staffing;
  • Producing reports for the CEO and Board on organisational performance against strategic plan and contracts;
  • Developing and maintaining the staff training program;
  • Ensuring GSCML achieves and maintains accreditation; and
  • Acting as the organisation's principal Occupational Health & Safety Officer.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Manager with a significant background in the healthcare and/or community services sector, and preferably relevant tertiary qualifications. This is a role for a collaborative team player with experience in strategic planning, managing contracts, preparing tenders and maintaining accreditation. You'll undertake these duties with a strategic focus, while ISO certification as an Auditor and/or a RACGP certification will be an advantage.

You'll be highly experienced in preparing budgets and reports for senior management, as well as strong computer literacy and the ability to inspire and direct staff to consistently reach goals. Additionally, a current driver's licence is required, and you'll need to obtain a successful Criminal History check before commencement.
