About the Organisation
Harbour City Ferries is a joint venture between Transfield Services (Australia) Pty Ltd and Veolia Transport Australasia Pty Ltd (Veolia Transdev). Harbour City Ferries operates approximately 175,000 services, transporting more than 14 million people across Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River each year. The extensive network connects 39 destinations and spans approximately 37 kilometres from Parramatta in Sydney's west, Manly in the north and Watsons Bay in the east.
Harbour City Ferries mission is to create a world class ferry service in Sydney by taking the customer service to the next level. They will do so by building upon the great work of Sydney Ferries over recent years. Harbour City Ferries will be keeping a strong focus on safety, a more reliable and dependable service, clean ferries and an engaged staff helping Transport for NSW to better integrate the ferry service more with the wider transport network. About the Opportunity
Harbour City Ferries has an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Manager to join their professional team based in Circular Quay, Sydney Harbour.
Reporting to the General Manger People & Culture, this is a senior role in which you'll be responsible for developing and implementing a range of integrated training strategies for staff across the organisation. You'll contribute to all aspects of Harbour City Ferries' training requirements, including the areas of inductions, competency training, professional development and managing the organisation's status as an RTO.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
- Researching, designing, developing, implementing and delivering frontline management programmes, including induction modules;
- Managing Harbour City Ferries as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in accordance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Standards;
- Consulting with Operational Managers and HR to identify core competencies and training/development needs of each area;
- Developing a range of delivery techniques and methods and ensure training and development programmes are efficient and effective; and
- Ensuring that training programs do not have an adverse impact on the Harbour City Ferries operation and work within the overall ferry roster where possible.
This role calls for a proactive team player with experience and qualifications in Adult Education, and the proven ability to deliver effective training programs to a wide range of people across an organisation. You'll come from a significant vocational training background, and have demonstrated skills in online training delivery, and using contemporary training software. Similarly, you'll have solid experience in the design and implementation of work-based training and assessment instruments.
Harbour City Ferries is searching for someone for whom effective communication and a client focus are all-important. You'll bring enough experience within the VET sector to be able to design and amend training for specific people and groups, based on their specific needs. The successful candidate will have a commitment to identifying and acting on issues that affect the effective implementation of OHS and EEO practices.
