About the Opportunity

Adept Engineering Australia has exciting full time opportunities for two Pressure Equipment Inspectors to join their friendly teams in Sydney and Newcastle / Central Coast.

The main aim of this role will include field inspection of pressure equipment (boilers and pressure vessels) at client premises, including factories, plant rooms and outdoors. These are highly varied and challenging roles for Engineering professionals with full training as an Inspector of pressure equipment.

Reporting to the Technical Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting and reporting on the safety of Pressure Equipment, displaying a high degree of responsibility;
  • Completing comprehensive report writing for each inspection;
  • Remaining aware of legal liability and risk management at all times;
  • Adhering to correct technical procedures and document control; and
  • Attention to time management and costs incurred by the company.

Adept Engineering Australia is looking for candidates with extensive experience in the maintenance, installation and operations of boilers and other pressure vessels, while any background with air conditioning and refrigeration systems or in the mining sector will be an advantage. Ideally, you will hold a qualification in Engineering - certificate, degree, diploma or trade qualification - and it is highly desirable that you have training and/or qualifications in AICIP.

The successful candidate will possess an excellent command of the English language, with good negotiation, report writing, and computer and internet skills. You will be well versed in workplace health and safety procedures, with an understanding of plant and machinery and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

You will be able to think on your feet, and work efficiently when unsupervised. You will be a self starter with good time management skills, and the flexibility to travel away from home for up to two separate weeks in a month. Occasional weekend work may also be required, depending on client circumstances. All applicants require a current driver's licence.

You will enjoy a high level of job satisfaction in this role, with lots of variety and the freedom of autonomy. You will be generally visiting several sites each day on a geographically structured run, keeping each day interesting. You will be meeting new people and also establishing long term relationships with contracted clients.
