About the Opportunity
Daikin PNG has an exciting international opportunity for an experienced HVAC Engineering All-Rounder to join their team as Engineering Manager in Port Moresby, PNG.
Reporting to the Manager Daikin Airconditioning, this is a hands-on residential role in which you will provide technical and commercial expertise and leadership, as you oversee all aspects of the engineering activities of Daikin PNG.
You'll meet with a range of industrial clients to determine their HVAC needs, and design their refrigeration & air conditioning systems to provide their solutions. From there, you'll oversee the Project Manager and Drafting Manager to ensure the project is delivered successfully at all levels.
More specifically, your duties will include:
- Designing HVAC systems, using design software tools such Camel, Python and Dolphin;
- Providing engineering support to the Service, Estimating, Projects and Drawing areas of the business;
- Reviewing the engineering aspects of tenders, in conjunction with Manager PNG;
- Providing engineering approval of drawings;
- Financial accountability for the Projects department;
- Development of engineering quality systems and procedures;
- Overseeing the implementation of quality systems and procedures; and
- Providing technical support during commissioning of systems as required.
The successful candidate will have an extensive hands-on history working with all aspects of HVAC and Refrigeration, including experience in VRV or VRF systems, chilled water systems, packaged air conditioners and ventilated systems. You'll need knowledge of a wide range of equipment (e.g. Daikin, Temperzone, Carrier), while experience working with electrical and controls fields would be an advantage. Applicants must hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a background using engineering software is essential.
Daikin PNG is looking for an organised, self-motivated and commercially-savvy Manager with the ability to ensure all targets, budgets and timeframes are met by a diverse team across several divisions. You'll have a proven background in project management, strong design skills, and the ability to adapt theoretical and technical knowledge into solutions for real life situations. It's important that you're highly computer literate, adept in training others, and can work within a culturally diverse and challenging environment.
You'll be based at Port Moresby, but applicants must be flexible to travel within PNG as required, and you need to hold a current driver's licence.
This is a residential role, and Daikin PNG will make your relocation as smooth as possible, offering initial airfares and relocation assistance, as well as furnished accommodation in Port Moresby.
