About the Opportunity
Trafflec has exciting opportunities for a Directional Drill Operator and a Team Supervisor (Tracker) to join their team in Coopers Plains, QLD.
The Team Supervisor role will see you providing leadership and instruction to a small team, as well as lending your expertise in the field to ensure that the job is completed on time and to standard.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Liaising with Project Managers and Principal Contractors;
- Organising maintenance on vehicles, dial before you dig plans and materials;
- Operating machinery and providing maintenance as required;
- Plotting drill paths, calibrating locator;
- Understanding plans, identifying risks and adhering to property safety and environment standards;
- Providing input into specific needs and requirements of jobs; and
- Ensuring that workers comply with safety and organisational procedures.
The Directional Drill Operator will report directly to the Team Supervisor and will be responsible for carrying out day to day work using the drill rig.
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
- Operating a new Ditch Witch 20x20, DAF with vacuum unit and Hino Beaver tail truck for Ditch Witch;
- Providing daily maintenance on vehicles; and
- Understanding and adhering to safety procedures for preparing and loading machinery.
To be successful in these roles, you will have experience working in this field, a minimum of a MR licence, as well as current, relevant construction tickets including a white card. Excavator and bobcat tickets are desirable as is previous vacuum excavation experience.
As a Team Supervisor, you will be self motivated with proven leadership skills and extensive field experience. You'll be organised, will have excellent verbal and written skills supported by sound computer skills, and the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels including operators, head office staff, project managers and principal contractors.
The Directional Drill Operator will be able to follow instruction, possess great communication skills, and will be motivated to continually develop their skill set and knowledge.
These roles do require travel and while the role is largely a 5 day per week role with weekends usually free, flexibility in working some nights and occasional weekends is also part of the position.
