About the Opportunities
Nexus Human Services currently have exciting opportunities for Employment Specialists to join their teams based out of Queanbeyan or Braddon, ACT. Opportunities exist for an Employment Specialist in Disability and an Employment Specialist in Mental Health.
In these pivotal roles, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a caseload of clients with either a mental illness or disability, ensuring they obtain and maintain meaningful employment within the local community.
These are full-time positions and suitable candidates will based in either the Braddon or Queanbeyan office, or mobile between the two if flexible to do so.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Liaising with local employers in order to identify potential vacancies in their workforce, and reverse market clients to fill these roles;
- Providing assessment to job seekers to develop and implement individually tailored employment plans;
- Providing case management on an individual and group basis;
- Assisting job seekers in developing workplace skills in order to gain sustainable employment;
- Engaging job seekers to promote active participation in the community by addressing social and vocational barriers to employment;
- Maintaining concise and up to date information on individual clients; and
- Working as part of a high performing team to meet negotiated performance/outcome targets.
The successful candidates will possess relevant case management skills as well as experience in marketing, networking, liaison and negotiation. You will have the ability to identify barriers to employment and develop effective strategies to assist in addressing these.
You will be a dedicated team player with sound administration skills allowing you to maintain database systems efficiently, while your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to provide employment related training and career advice to a variety of individuals.
A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle are essential to be considered for this position.
