About the Opportunity
Due to continued growth, Nilsen has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager - Electrical Services Division to join their team based in Heidelberg West, VIC.
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, this pivotal role will see you responsible for the technical and administrative management of all allocated customers, projects, servicing requirements and other field activities within the Division. This will include the coordination and management of shared resources as well as the leading and resourcing of multiple work teams whilst also providing exceptional customer service.
More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Allocating work responsibilities to Supervisors, Leading Hands, Project Managers, Engineers, Coordinators and Administrators as well as putting in place processes to track jobs;
- Ensuring allocated works meet agreed time and financial targets as specified for each activity;
- Working collaboratively with relevant Nilsen Managers to ensure there is effective coordination and the utilisation of all Nilsen and non-Nilsen people involved on the various jobs;
- Reviewing business processes on a regular basis to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes as necessary; and
- Promoting, maintaining and managing customer and supplier relationships.
The successful candidate will hold an Electrical Trade qualification coupled with leadership experience and a proactive management style which ensures you are able to lead, coach and motivate a large team of Electrical Tradespeople. In addition, you will have a strong technical skill set that includes project management and logistics on top of your electrical skills.
Nilsen is looking for a customer focused candidate with strong skills in influencing people and a proven track record of relationship building and maintenance. You will also have well developed analytical, financial management, problem solving and computer skills. Importantly, you will have a keen eye for detail as well as the ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
