About the Opportunity
Hy-Line Australia has an exciting opportunity available for a full time Production Planner to join their farming operation based just north of Bendigo in Huntly, Victoria.
Reporting to the Planning and Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring there are enough fertile parent stock hatching eggs to meet the sales needs of day old commercial pullets for commercial egg laying operations. You will achieve this by ensuring the breeding stock has the most up to date genetics, through regular importing, to be able to produce genetic regenerations.
This is a great opportunity for a planning professional with experience in food production and the supply chain to bring their wealth of skills to Australia's leading supplier of pullets to the domestic egg industry.
Some of your specific, day-to-day duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Running scenarios through Genetic Models to ascertain bird flock sizes;
- Developing performance modelling of Poultry placement scenarios;
- Maintaining and updating the Placement, Transfer & Culling Program;
- Assisting the Livestock and Hatchery divisions with data capture and processing to produce weekly reports;
- Preparing monthly production KPI's for all divisions;
- Ensuring chicks are delivered efficiently and cost effectively; and
- Protecting livestock through quarantine and bio-security procedures.
You will be spending a considerable amount of time working with raw data in spreadsheets so it is essential that you are detail oriented and have extensive experience using Microsoft Excel including advanced analytical processing ability and the ability to consider potential consequences of the actions you take.
Importantly, you will have strong interpersonal communication skills, enabling you to effectively engage relevant stakeholders. Your strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines will compliment your ability to work under pressure in this fast paced, and dynamic role.
A current drivers licence is also essential to be considered.
While not required, candidates with experience in poultry or livestock production will be viewed favourably.
