About the Opportunity

Royal Davui Island Resort has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced couple in the fields of business management, tourism and hospitality, to live and work on a beautiful island resort as Resort General Managers in Fiji. The ideal applicants will have hands-on 5 star resort experience.  

Reporting to Senior Management, you'll be responsible for all facets of management for the Royal Davui Island Resort, supported by a team of reliable staff, to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and resort profitability. As a couple, you play the role of the host at this small and exclusive resort, to ensure all our guests receive a personal and welcoming experience. 

Specifically, you will be required to:

  • Achieve financial performance targets for both revenue and expenditure on a weekly, monthly and annual basis;
  • Ensure that established policies are adhered to and that all employees, departments and outlets are neat, clean and functional at all times;
  • Manage the company's assets in all areas so as to ensure appropriate return on investment;
  • Have input into rate setting and yield management, forecasting business trends, quality control and service standards, and department productivity;
  • Providing a high level of guest care including hosting cocktail evenings, welcoming and farewelling all guests and organising transfers to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction; and
  • Effectively leading a team in the delivery of a high standard of customer service as well as the ability to respond to guest feedback in a pro-active manner which results in continuous business improvement.

The ideal applicants will have a proven track record in the areas of accommodation and hospitality management, experience in a 5 star boutique resort will be highly advantageous to your success in this role.  In addition, appropriate formal business, commercial or hotel management qualifications will be highly regarded, as well as experience working in a remote location. 

Your focus on guest services and achieving high levels of guest satisfaction will be essential for your success in this role. You will both need to demonstrate excellent communication skills along with the ability to build strong working relationships with staff, suppliers, internal stakeholders and of course, guests. Working in partnership, you'll bring efficient time management and prioritization skills, along with the ability to delegate and manage staff members effectively. You'll need the ability to take ownership and solve problems quickly and effectively. 

As General Managers, you'll need a strong understanding of all financial aspects related to running a resort, including payroll, preparing department budgets, monitoring costs and expenditures across all departments. 

You will be guest-focused and results-orientated leaders and you will enthusiastically identify and accept challenges and opportunities for growth and development of the business.
