Catholic Care of the Aged Port Macquarie is the largest Aged Care Provider in the Port Macquarie Region. This highly regarded organisation is part of St.Agnes Parish Port Macquarie, a not for profit organisation offering services across a number of sectors including; Aged Care, Child Care, Welfare and Education. St Agnes Parish currently employ in excess of 1000 staff with approximately 400 staff represented in Catholic Care of the Aged.

Catholic Care of the Aged consists of 2 Retirement Villages, 111 Community Care Packages and over 300 low and high care residential beds across multiple sites. About the Opportunity

St.Agnes Parish has a rewarding opportunity for a Director of Aged Care to lead Catholic Care of the Aged and join the Parish's senior leadership team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for strategic and operational management of the multi entity environment, along with the provision of quality service to residents.  This will include managing services ranging from Community Care Packages through to High Care facilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity that will allow the incumbent an opportunity to strategically shape the future of Catholic Care of the Aged.

More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Providing high level strategic leadership;
  • Ensuring the financial viability of CCA (Catholic Care of the Aged) and seeking to achieve the financial targets that form part of the CCA strategic plan
  • Promoting CCA and St. Agnes Parish as a preferred provider of Aged Care within the community;
  • Overseeing regulatory compliance through all accreditation mechanisms and keeping abreast with legislative changes;
  • Liaising with appropriate government departments;
  • Promoting a vision of 'person centred care' which enhances residents' capacity to live to their full potential and as independently as possible;
  • Ensuring that the quality of care supports personal health and wellbeing, a holistic lifestyle and the emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of residents; 
  • Developing and implementing systems and processes that promote the strategic focus of the CCA Consultative Committee; and
  • Delivering outstanding relationship development, engagement in communication skills especially in regard to the community, clinicians, surrounding health services and other key stakeholders.

To be considered, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications coupled with extensive management experience within the Aged Care sector.  An appropriate balance of Clinical and Management Skills will be essential for you to manage the multi-faceted and dynamic CCA operation.

Additionally, you will have proven experience in planning, developing and delivering health and/or community service programs and will have the ability to facilitate change through continuous improvement programs.  Your previous experience should also include stakeholder engagement, partnership management and regulatory compliance.

Importantly, you will have a willingness to work in harmony with the values and principles of the Catholic Church as you actively promote St. Agnes Catholic Care of the Age's Vision, Mission, Philosophy and Strategic Plan.

A current Driver's Licence and National Criminal History Record clearance are essential to be considered.
