About the Organization
Huckleberry Mines is an open pit copper/molybdenum mine located approximately 130 km due south of Smithers in west central British Columbia. The mine started commercial production in October 1997. An aggressive exploration program has been ongoing on the mine property and has identified ore reserves to take the mine life to 2021. Huckleberry Mines is owned and operated by Huckleberry Mines which is a British Columbia company owned by a consortium of Japanese companies (Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Dowa Mining Co., Furukawa Co., and Marubeni Co) and Imperial Metals Corporation.

About the Opportunity
Huckleberry Mines Ltd. is seeking a Tailings Engineer Metallurgist to work in their mine located approximately two hours driving time from Houston, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist and working closely with Mill Operation and Maintenance departments, you will lead, develop, and implement the deposition of tailings from the Cyclone Sands Plant (CSP), while following health, safety, and environmental principles and specifications at all times.You will also provide support, guidance and new ideas in sand pad construction and NAG sand movement, as well as develop the operational guidelines for the CSP.
To qualify, you will need a Metallurgical/Mineral Processing background and have excellent comprehension of cyclone operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced metallurgist who looks forward to taking on new operational and technical challenges. You will join us with proven skills in project management on projects of varying scope, and you are a master when it comes to managing and executing projects on time and with the highest level of quality control.
The successful candidate will have experience in using modeling, databases and spreadsheet software as it relates to tailings management. You must also be comfortable writing reports that follow MEM (Ministry of Energy and Mines) guidelines.

Huckleberry Mines is a remote mine where its employees live in a camp environment on their days of work. The work schedule for this position is a 4 x 3 schedule (Monday – Thursday, 4 days in, 3 days out).
Transportation will be provided to and from the mine from Houston and Smithers. All meals and accommodations will be provided free of charge to employees while on the mine site.
