About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, Treidlia Biovet is seeking an personable and experienced Microbiologist to join their team based near Blacktown, Sydney. This is a permanent full-time role with an immediate start for the right person.

Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for providing microbiological guidance to the company's varied activities. This will involve production, quality and R&D aspects of Vaccine and Diagnostic work, with an emphasis on ensuring GMP guidelines and other regulatory requirements are met.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supervising Production and Diagnostic work;
  • Managing R&D projects for vaccine and diagnostic work;
  • Monitoring Quality;
  • Ensuring the performance of equipment and facilities, including autoclaves, clean rooms and other equipment;
  • Implementing change control processes;
  • Assisting with preparation for audits;
  • Updating and revising laboratory documentation and procedures, in line with regulatory needs; and
  • Staff training. 

To be considered, you'll need a degree in Microbiology (or a related discipline), along with previous experience working within a Microbiology, GMP Pharmaceutical or Biologics role. Due to the varied nature of this role, you must also have a strong working knowledge of all aspects of molecular biology, virology and bacteriology. Additionally, you'll need experience in a broad range of microbiological testing including Bacteriology and ELISAs.

Treidlia Biovet is seeking a well-rounded and motivated individual for this position with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently with individuals from all levels within the organisation. As a 'people person', you'll display excellent customer focus and great supervisory, leadership and reporting skills, and excel in Treidlia Biovet's small team environment.

As this position involves supervisory duties and staff training, the successful candidate will need to be a natural communicator with excellent verbal and written English.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will enjoy an attractive remuneration circa $65,000 to $80,000.
