About the Organisation
Yulu-Burri-Ba is an Aboriginal community controlled organisation which seeks to provide and improve the overall well-being of the Aboriginal community of North Stradbroke Island.
The organisation's philosophy encompasses an Aboriginal perspective of health, not only focusing on ill-health. Yulu-Burri-Ba's approach strives to cover all issues that affect their community.
The main aim of the organisation is to provide a safe, friendly, confidential and culturally appropriate Aboriginal primary health care service, in the line with community needs.

About the Opportunity
Yulu-Burri-Ba has a unique opportunity for an Administration / Marketing Officer to join their dedicated North Stradbroke Island team.
Reporting to the Manager - Health Promotions, the main aim of the role is to coordinate primary prevention programs, services and activities through a holistic approach to health care management for the benefit of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
Key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting in the management of the operations of the Health Promotions unit, ensuring a coordinated and holistic approach to health management, chronic disease and maternal / child health care of the clients;
- Assisting in the alignment of Health Promotion unit programs with national health promotions strategies and the Centre's strategic and operational plans, including the SDRF Action Plan;
- Assisting in the development (and providing regular updates for) an annual plan of health education and information sessions;
- Developing and disseminating the Centre newsletter and providing recommendations on how to improve its effectiveness;
- Contributing to the updating of information on the organisation's website;
- Preparing Powerpoint presentations;
- Developing and implementing strategies for the overall promotion of the Centre, including the development of promotional materials;
- Managing and maintaining the organisation's internal resource library;
- Preparing an annual work plan in consultation with the position's supervisor and producing regular performance reports; and
- Actively participating in health promotion activities and the promotion of the overall aims and objectives of Yulu-Burri-Ba.
Ideally, the successful applicant will hold a Certificate III in Business, a current C Class Driver's Licence (Qld), plus a current Working with Children Blue Card, a current First Aid / CPR certificate (or be willing to obtain these). Experience working within a cross-cultural environment, as well as knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures is desirable but not essential.
You will require well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. In addition, Yulu-Burri-Ba is seeking a candidate with the ability to function both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
The successful applicant will be rewarded with competitive remuneration, circa $18.27-$19.19 per hour, plus not-for-profit salary sacrifice options (up to $16,050 tax-free!) and monthly RDO.
