Catholic Care of the Aged (CCA) Port Macquarie is the largest Aged Care Provider in the Port Macquarie Region. This highly regarded organisation is part of St Agnes' Parish Port Macquarie, a not for profit organisation offering services across a number of sectors including; Aged Care, Child Care, Welfare and Education. St Agnes' Parish currently employ in excess of 1000 staff with approximately 400 staff represented in CCA.

About the Opportunity
CCA has a fulfilling opportunity for a full-time Clinical Nurse Educator to join their Aged Care Management Team in Port Macquarie, NSW.
Reporting directly to the Director of Care, you'll be responsible for meeting the learning and development needs of nursing care staff through the delivery and evaluation of contemporary, evidence-based education and training in accordance with CCA's vision, mission, code of conduct, and person centered philosophy. This position will also involve coordinating Infection Control across CCA's entities.
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will include (but will not be limited to)
- Clinical practice, education and innovation;
- Educational program delivery and evaluation;
- Staff orientation, training and clinical competency assessment;
- Infection control;
- Quality assurance;
- Workplace Health & Safety; and
- Professional development.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with demonstrated experience in delivering and coordinating clinical education and training programs for Registered, Enrolled and Student nurses. You'll be registered with AHPRA and hold (or be working towards) a nursing education qualification. A certificate IV in Workplace training is also essential, as is the completion of Advanced Life Support (ALS).
This is a hands-on educator role involving a high degree of clinical involvement. Applicants therefore must have extensive clinical nursing experience and ability in the Aged Care sector along with a thorough understanding of Aged Care accreditation and legislation. Knowledge of the National Infection Control Guidelines and medico-legal issues as they relate to infection control is also a requirement.
CCA is seeking applications from results-oriented educators with excellent teaching and facilitation skills within a health care environment, including knowledge of competency attainment and assessment. You'll lead by example, and utilise your high level interpersonal, communication and listening skills to develop strong working relationships and encourage, motivate and develop staff. A calm and flexible attitude, as well as the ability to adapt well to changing circumstances is essential.
You'll have a genuine passion for the aged care sector and embody the values of compassion, commitment, respect and dignity in your work. Sensitivity and empathy towards older people is a must. Importantly, you will have a willingness to work in harmony with the values and principles of the Catholic Church as you actively promote CCA's Vision, Mission, Philosophy and Strategic Plan.
Post graduate qualifications in aged care and/or education will be highly regarded, as will membership and participation within a relevant professional organisation.
A current Driver's Licence and National Criminal History Record clearance are essential to be considered.
