About the Parenting Research Centre
The Parenting Research Centre is Australia's only independent non-profit research and development centre dedicated to helping parents raise happy, healthy children.
Working across the health, education and welfare sectors, the Centre works closely with policy makers, organisational leaders and practitioners to help them improve outcomes for children through effective support for parents and families.
The Centre supports the adoption of evidence-based practice and policy with rigorous research, knowledge synthesis and translation, and systematic implementation support.
About the The Intensive Family Support Services Program
The Intensive Family Support Services (IFSS) is a key part of the Australian Government’s investment in targeted services to support vulnerable children and their families living in the Northern Territory and the communities of Amata and Pukatja in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunyatjatjara Lands of South Australia. IFSS was funded in response to the findings of the 2010 Board of Inquiry into the Child Protection System 'Growing them strong, together' report.
IFSS is available to Indigenous and non-Indigenous families with children aged 0-12 years of age, where neglect has been substantiated by the state or territory child protection authority. IFSS is a free service that provides intensive support in the home and community, to help improve the health, safety and wellbeing of their children. The referral pathway to the IFSS program is through the child protection authority. In the Northern Territory, families must be referred to Child Protection Income Management by the child protection authority to be eligible for the service.
