About St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and the Nursing Workforce Unit
St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is one of Australia's leading Catholic not-for-profit healthcare providers. SVHM is part of St Vincent’s Health Australia and a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service which employs more than 5,700 staff across 18 sites throughout Melbourne that provides a range of services, including acute medical and surgical services, emergency and critical care, aged care, diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care.
The Nursing Workforce Unit (NWU) allocates nursing staff to short notice shifts across the SVHM network. Working in the NWU team you will be offered a wide variety of shifts and have the unique experience of working across a wide variety of clinical specialities.
About the Opportunity
St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne has multiple exciting opportunities for experienced registered and endorsed enrolled nurses to join the Nursing Workforce Unit on either a full-time or part-time (minimum 24 hours per week) basis.
In this highly varied roles you will be responsible for temporarily filling shifts across a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty areas including acute medical and surgical wards, sub-acute care, rehabilitation, residential aged care, mental health, palliative care and critical care including both ICU and Emergency.
The NWU is seeking experienced Registered and Endorsed Enrolled nurses with a minimum of two years’ current experience in acute, sub-acute, mental health or aged-care settings. You’ll be able to demonstrate highly developed clinical skills and the versatility and flexibility to work across a variety of clinical settings.
You’ll possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a wide array of teams. Additionally, you will be able to offer exceptional nursing to a diverse range of patients.
Importantly, you will be able and willing to work on a rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts, and will be available to work across all SVHM campuses. Before commencing employment you will need a current satisfactory National Police Certificate conducted by the Victoria Police.
