About the Organisation
The Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution was founded in 1880 with the sole intention of making the world a better place for all. Having been established for 70 years, the RFBI is the second-oldest benevolent institution formed in NSW to assist and support people in need.
In recent years, the RFBI has extended its support and benevolence activities by providing retirement accommodation and lifestyle care facilities in village communities around NSW and the ACT. About Life in Basin View
Situated on the shores of St Georges Basin, Basin View is approximately 200km south of Sydney and 25km south of Nowra. About the Opportunity
Royal Freemasons' Benevolent Institution (RFBI) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Care Manager to join their dynamic team in the Basin View Community Aged Care facility in Basin View, NSW.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role is primarily responsible for the provision of care for residents of the Basin View Community Aged Care facility and the supervision of nursing and ancillary care staff.
Within this position, your key responsibilities will also include (but will not be limited to):
- Ensuring standards of Regulatory and Funding Organisations are met;
- Evaluating resident care and ensuring that resident care is in accordance with recognised professional standards;
- Overseeing resident admission/departure processes;
- Liaising with the General Manager on financial aspects of admission processes;
- Ensuring accurate documentation procedures relating to ACFI are followed;
- Attaining the objectives of the Accreditation Standards; and
- Co-ordinating with the General Manager and Management Committee in setting objectives and goals for the facility.
To apply for this position, you must be a Registered Nurse or an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse with demonstrated experience in aged care.
Applicants must have proven knowledge of ACFI Funding (Aged Care Funding Instrument) and Commonwealth Standards and Guidelines, as well as the concept of QCI and accreditation.
As you will be required to supervise staff as well as coordinate meetings and reviews with the multidisciplinary team, you will need to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, as well as developed interpersonal skills and a creative, progressive and innovative management style.
Furthermore, your communication skills will enable you to provide high-level grief and loss counselling to residents and families.
This role includes the monitoring of policies and processes and their relevant documentation, therefore you will have a good level of computer literacy and knowledge of computerised care documentation systems, as well as sound written skills.
