About the Opportunity
Balco Australia is seeking a mature and experienced Site Manager to join their multidisciplinary team in Brookton, just over one hour east of Perth, WA.
This diverse role is responsible for ensuring the achievement of production, cost and quality targets across all Balco production facilities. Reporting to the General Manager (Operations), this role has approximately 20 direct reports.
More specifically, this will include (but may not be limited to):
- Ensuring efficient resource utilisation of both personnel and plant on site;
- Ensuring the safety of all personnel, contractors and visitors;
- Achieving agreed production and cost targets;
- Overseeing logistics and inventory control systems;
- Achieving established quality control targets;
- Leading and developing local teams in relevant areas; and
- Contributing to the management and development of the business as a whole.
The successful applicant will have at least three years line management experience within a manufacturing environment, along with a demonstrated ability to interact at a high level with key decision makers from a variety of professional backgrounds. Your background will ensure you have a sound understanding of manufacturing principles and practices, as well as a history of achieving production and cost targets. Additionally, you will consider yourself an analytical and strategic thinker, who's willing and eager to participate in business improvement activities and professional development.
Balco Australia is seeking applications from autonomous, flexible managers with experience leading and developing high performing teams. You'll be able to make sound decisions on the fly, and adapt well to changing circumstances. You'll also have a sound understanding of current quality improvement tools and techniques (HACCP, HAZOP & PDCA) and enjoy opportunities to get 'hands-on' when needed. Importantly, you'll bring to the role confidence, resilience and self-motivation, as this role is highly autonomous.
Of course, sound communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, as is the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite. You'll also need excellent planning and organisation skills, as well as good numerical ability. Candidates with mechanical aptitude will also be highly regarded.
