About the Opportunity
Simon National Carriers has an amazing opportunity for a passionate, driven State Sales Manager to join and lead their Victorian sales team.
Reporting to National Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the Victorian sales team to achieve sustainable revenue and profitability targets through strong relationships, technical expertise, and market presence throughout the state. Additionally, you'll be working in conjunction with the National sales team, to contribute to the successful and sustainable growth, profitability, and market share, confirming Simon National Carriers as a recognised national leader in specialised interstate transport services and associated capabilities.
More specifically, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Developing and implementing State sales plans;
- Developing the annual department financial budget;
- Liaising with Operations and other states to assist in achieving common goals and outcomes;
- Monitoring and analysis of customer feedback, competitor information, industry trends and other sources of information to identify opportunities for Simon National Carriers;
- Personally managing key accounts;
- Leading and supporting the State Sales team consisting of a BDM and Sales Co-Ordinator; and
- Preparing sales and pipeline forecasts and reporting.
This is a pivotal role within a highly successful national business. Simon National Carriers is looking for a passionate sales professional, and proven success in a consultative sales role as well as extensive experience in a business development role. Previous sales management and people management experience in the transport industry is highly desirable. Importantly, you will have experience leading a small team of sales professionals, and will be able to develop, implement and monitor the performance of budgets and sales plans.
You'll be self-motivated, organised and team-oriented, with excellent time-management skills. Additionally, you'll have a confident and approachable personality, with the ability to tackle problems analytically and strategically. You'll also have the ability to generate workable solutions for customers and stakeholders, coupled with strong lead generation skills. A well-developed pattern of target setting, motivation and enthusiasm will be critical to your success in this role.

A self motivated 'go getter' who is able to work comfortably and accurately in a fast-paced environment, you will be proactive in your approach and not afraid to take the initiative to get the job done. Additionally, you will be able to apply your excellent problem solving skills to the task at hand and adapt easily to changing conditions.
