Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is one of 31 new primary health care organisations established to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes and improve coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.
With the head office located in Wagga Wagga, the MPHN covers a land area of 124,412 square kilometres and services a population of 240,755 covered by 28 Local Government areas.
About the Opportunity
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) now presents an outstanding opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced leader to join their team as a Manager Quality and Health Pathways, on a full time, fixed term contract until 30 June, 2018, based in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
Reporting to the Executive Manager - Planning, Commissioning and Performance , you will be responsible for the policies, frameworks and systems that ensure the health services delivered or commissioned by MPHN have the requisite quality standards that produce the optimum outcomes for the population in the catchment community. In addition, you'll also be responsible for the overall operations of the Murrumbidgee Health Pathways Program including facilitating Health Pathways Working Groups in planning, implementing and evaluating of the program.
Some key responsibilities of this role will include, but will not be limited to:
Quality role requirements such as;
- Maintenance and expansion of the continuous quality improvement program;
- Achievement and maintenance of the MPHN’s accreditation status;
- Management and expansion of the MPHN clinical and corporate risk management programs;
- Support service and program employee in clinical incident and complaints investigation; and
- Maintaining a clinical audit program to assess the quality service delivery.
And Health Pathways role requirements such as;
- Working with health professionals to ensure broad stakeholder engagement in the program;
- Undertaking research of best practice evidence for developing health pathways;
- Preparing pathway briefs, including identifying and coordinating resources;
- Creating awareness and an understanding of the use of Health Pathways; and
- Develop, direct and review the evaluation of the Health Pathways Program.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification and/or experience in quality management within the health care sector. It is also essential you have knowledge of clinical governance and risk management processes.
Collaborating with relevant stakeholders, you'll lead ensure the maintenance and expansion of a quality management system that ensure the health services delivered or commissioned by MPHN produce the optimum outcomes for the population in the catchment community. In addition you'll be responsible for the Murrumbidgee Health Pathways Program including facilitating the Health Pathways Working Groups in planning, implementing and evaluating the program.
You'll be a highly organised and motivated individual as you'll be working through the next new and exciting period of change. As you'll be joining a new PHN you'll be a pivotal in making and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure the achievement of project work/ deliverables. In addition, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are essential.
To hit the ground running in this role you'll have previous experience in research of evidence based best practice and innovative models of care. Similarly you'll have demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective risk management processes in accordance with AS/ NZS 31000:2009 Risk Management - Principles and Guidelines.
