About the Organisation
Minimbah is a not-for-profit incorporated association who has been dedicated to providing comprehensive disability support services throughout the Marsfield region for over 30 years. Our vision is to provide a sustainable community of learning, enjoyment and support to all people with intellectual disability. Our expertise lies in the profound, severe and challenging categories and we are growing the business in all areas to also include the more moderately intellectually disabled person.
Minimbah’s main goal is to provide person centred planning – an initiative that ensures people with disabilities are given the casting vote in decisions about their own life and activities. The organisation has a strong belief in promoting independence and ensuring that clients receive the support they need, meaning they are engaged in programs they enjoy, and programs that are important to their goals and desires.
About the Opportunity
Minimbah is seeking passionate individuals to join their vibrant organisation as Disability Support Workers on a casual basis.
In this highly rewarding role, you’ll be working closely with adults who have multiple disabilities and associated high-support needs to help them to maintain independence and assist them with their personal care needs.
Your duties will include:
- Providing support to clients to function safely and independently and facilitated physical, recreational, social, and educational activities;
- Identifying social, recreational, and educational services within the community that will meet clients’ needs under the guidance of your team leader;
- Assisting in the identification, documentation, and assessment of clients’ daily support needs;
- Assisting with grooming and hygiene, alongside the dispensing and administering of medication; and
- Assisting clients to identify their dreams and aspirations through tailored person centred plans.
The ideal candidates will be dedicated, enthusiastic, and motivated, with a drive to constantly provide a high level of care to all clients. Ready to immerse yourself in this challenging and rewarding role, you’ll be adaptable, flexible, and ready to truly make a difference in the quality of your clients’ lives.

Strong communication skills are a must for this role, alongside the ability to effectively work within a diverse team of colleagues and clients. You must be confident in your ability to perform duties for personal care, manual handling, and a high level of physical activity.
You’ll have a hands on approach, with a commitment to promoting your client’s independence at all times. You’ll have a desire to assist them in achieving their goals and aspirations, as you work closely to provide them with the guidance and opportunities they need to do so.
Please note: It is a requirement of this role that candidates have a current NSW Class C driver's licence. Candidates must also hold a current Working With Children Clearance, a First Aid Certificate, and are willing to undergo a National Police Check prior to employment.
