About the Opportunity
Due to relocation of the Victorian site to Sydney, NSW, Waterwheel have a number of opportunities for Machine Operators to join their team based in Glendenning on a full-time permanent basis. Opportunities exist for day, afternoon, and night shift workers.
As an Operator, your main responsibility will be operating and maintaining food production machinery in order to ensure high quality and efficient product output.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Checking of materials and ingredients to prepare batches and run the cooking process;
- Independently operating food processing machinery whilst still acting as part of a team;
- Completing paperwork accurately, neatly and consistently throughout every shift;
- Conducting product quality checks to maintain a high level of product quality and food safety; and
- Working within GMP, WH&S and HACCP requirements.
Waterwheel are seeking candidates with demonstrated experience in food manufacturing, working across the production and packing processes. You'll need a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and exposure to Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles. Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to dissemble, clean, and reassemble machinery, is a key requirement of this role.
You'll have strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment. Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow clear instructions, will see you effectively using recipes to make precise batches that result in minimal wastage. In addition, you'll need sound mathematical ability to accurately calculate batch measurements. You'll be a great communicator, with the ability to complete paperwork to a high standard.
Above all, you'll have a great attitude with the genuine desire to produce high quality results, working with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
