About the Opportunity
NCD are seeking three senior-level drillers to join their small team in a full-time capacity. In line with industry standard, you will be required to commit to a rotating roster, typically 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
The Exploratory RC Drillers will be stationed at the Dubbo worksite, whilst the Water Bore Driller will be required to travel to alternative locations, depending on work load. As such, a willingness to travel as and when needed is necessary and a work vehicle will be organised.
You will be operating specialist and user friendly machinery, in one of the following roles:
- 2 x Senior Exploratory Reverse Circulation Drillers
- 1 x Water Bore Driller
The main aim of these positions is to operate drilling machinery in a safe manner, in order to meet business requirements. Additionally, you will manage and support your drilling assistants to fulfill their duties in a compliant and responsible manner, within set time frames.
Working in a close-knit and supportive team environment, you will demonstrate accountability, punctuality and commitment to the role, ensuring you are always leading by example. You will be required to attend all on-site meetings and training procedures, demonstrating best practice or assisting others within the company.
Some of your more specific duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Operating the drill rig, including servicing & maintenance requirements of on-site tools & vehicles;
- Mixing & testing of drilling fluids, chemicals and cement;
- Supervising the Drill Assistants to ensure they are following correct operating procedures;
- Managing and checking of safety equipment; and
- Completing the Daily Management Reporting.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in metaliferous, oil and gas and/or coal industries. For the RC Drilling positions specifically, a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an RC/Diamond Driller, using Schram 685 machinery is required.
To be successful in these roles, you will need to demonstrate leadership experience, the ability to comply with WHS policies and the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the roles, as well as the capacity to think on your feet.
Requirements
- Certificate II in Drilling Operations or Certificate II in Drilling Oil/Gas (On Shore);
- Certificate III in Drilling Oil/Gas (On Shore);
- Certificate IV in Drilling Oil/Gas (On Shore);
- NSW Class 4 License or equivalent National Class 2 license (specific to Water Bore Driller);
- Rotary Air/Rotary Mud endorsements
- Current HC (preferred) or HR Truck Licence;
- Full / open driver's licence;
- Current First Aid Certificate, with CPR competency;
- Working at Heights accreditation;
- Experience with piezometer and/or diamond drilling experience (desirable);
- Willingness to undergo a mandatory pre-employment medical examination, including Drug & Alcohol screening; and
- Demonstration of National Police clearance.
