Sigma Aerospace, is a leading aerospace Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) based in Tamworth, New South Wales. Sigma's clients include QANTASLINK, Jetstar, Cobham, National Jet Systems, QANTAS Defence, Virgin and various regional and charter operators throughout the region.
Today Sigma Aerospace supports airlines (regional through to international operators) as well as utility and special mission customers by way of its direct maintenance services (including engine, airframe, avionics and structural repairs), worldwide contract engineering services and inventory management.
Additionally Sigma Aerospace operates a Piston engine overhaul facility, Turbine engine overhaul facility (Honeywell Major Service Centre), a state of the art composite repair facility and an aircraft instrument overhaul facility
About the Opportunity
Due to ongoing expansion and growth, Sigma Aerospace have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LAME to join their friendly team in Tamworth, NSW, as a Chief Engineer (Aircraft and Component Maintenance). Reporting to the General Manager, this role will see you leading a team to carry out aircraft and component maintenance and repairs.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and supporting the maintenance operations and providing a high level of leadership to staff;
- Planning, organising, scheduling, conducting, and maintaining aircraft and component maintenance, ensuring you meet relevant legislation requirements.
- Ensuring quality control is maintained with regard to CASA and WorkCover WH&S requirements;
- Liaising with customers, manufacturers, sub-contractors, and suppliers, alongside liaising with CASA as required; and
- Overseeing labour systems, best practice skills, and costs associated with all maintenance carried out.
Sigma Aerospace are seeking an experienced LAME who holds a current CASA Part 66 B1 Licence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Airframe Groups 1, 5, 6, 7, and 10, including Metro, Jetstream, and King Air, alongside experience working with Piston Engine Groups 1 and 3, and Turbine Engines PT6 and TPE 331. Proven experience in GA, Corporate, and RPT maintenance, as well as demonstrated experience in Cessna Citation Series with associated engine types will be highly regarded. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite and related aircraft maintenance database systems is also required for the role.
Previous experience in a management role, alongside an engaging and dynamic leadership style, will see you well-equipped to provide support and direction to the repairs and maintenance team. Your strong time management and organisational skills will ensure you're able to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. Strong analytical and problem solving skills will mean you're confident in resolving issues as they arise. Above all, you'll be a team player, with a drive to constantly improve your team and the services they provide.
